Operational Risk Manager - Banking

Our Client is a globally recognised, successful bank that provides world‑class retail and corporate financial services to over 10 million customers across more than 700 business locations. They are looking for an experienced Operational Risk Manager to support the operational risk team.

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract for a hybrid role (3 days a week in the London office, 2 days from home with standard Monday‑Friday office hours 9 am‑5 pm).

• Support the Head of Operational Risk and manage day‑to‑day operational risk activities, including OP risk event reporting, risk & control assessments, business/project risk assessments, KRIs and risk training for first line owners.
• Undertake and document Control Assurance Testing (CAT) linked to RCAs and risk events.
• Co‑ordinate, monitor and report on a framework of KRIs for the Bank.
• Assist first‑line of defence in preparing and documenting RCAs for all Bank areas.
• Investigate risk events and prepare reports.
• Maintain risk event and risk issues logs and escalations.
• Compile the monthly MI reporting for the Risk Management Committee.
• Embed the operational risk framework across business areas and contribute to a risk and control culture through knowledge sharing.
• Influence and monitor action‑plan progress to improve risk and control environment from internal/external risk events, audits and regulatory inspections.
• Investigate and escalates breaches or risks of foreseeable harm via the risk events process.

• Operational risk management experience within financial services.
• Broad and deep experience to make critical assessments and sound business decisions.
• Experience in IT, Finance or Regulatory Reporting operational risk functions.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, attention to detail and advanced Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
