About the role:
The Lanes Group are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team supporting the Senior Management Accountant. This position is joining a team of 7 and is working in our Group Head office in Leeds.
- Hours:
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week (8.30am-5pm)
You will gain great exposure into Management Accounts duties and getting full support and training from the Senior Management Accountant as well as the wider team.
The Job:
- Produce monthly management accounts, including routine journal postings (accruals, prepayments, depreciation etc)
- Post daily cash postings/bank reconciliation and issue weekly cash reports
- Monitoring rebate accounts to ensure that rebate payments are made correctly and on time.
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Reviewing the financial performance against budget and analysing any variances.
- Working with depot managers to gather data on KPIs and using this information to drive improvements in the business.
- Nominal coding of invoices
- Supporting with the Year-end preparation such as preparing financial statements, such as the balance sheet and income statement, and ensuring that all financial records are up to date.
- Analysing sales data and making provisions for any potential liabilities or losses.
- Working with external auditors to ensure that the financial statements are accurate and comply with accounting standards.
About You:
The successful candidate must be AAT qualified and have 2+ years previous experience working in Finance and a general Accounts Assistant role. If you are looking to further progress with your qualifications we are supporting with study.
You must be able to demonstrate a methodical and logical approach to your work and have confident time management skills.
