Assistant Management Accountant

Your Role: Production of financial data and reports to agreed timetables, work with depot and commercial teams to enhance profitability of the business.

To ensure that the systems operate adequately to protect the division's financial and administrative integrity Advance and develop all procedures and systems.

• Supporting 1 or 2 Management Accountants – who each have responsibility for 2 sites’/depots’ accounts (turnover of these range between £10m-£50m)
• With experience (typically 12 months) sole responsibility for 1 small site/depot’s accounts
• Then becoming an active member of depot management team, providing financial input and support. Liaising and dealing with all depot accounting queries/problems. Ad-hoc investigation work at depots
• Producing fully reconciled monthly and year-end accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) in accordance with agreed timetables
• Providing help and assistance to other colleagues within the team and working with the wider Finance Team
• Central finance tasks/projects e.g. vehicle leasing, utilities, Capex analysis etc.
• Coordinating with auditors (both internal and external)

• Studying towards recognised Professional Accounting Qualification (such as CIMA or ACCA)
• Either from Industry or Practice

• Good level of IT skills - Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
• Excel skills – ideally Pivot Tables, Lookups
• Good communicator
• Attention to detail
• Team player

• Preparation and interpretation of management accounts
• Industry experience
