Factory Accountant

Cost Accountant Leeds £50,000 - £60,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are exclusively partnered with a multi-site FMCG business for the recruitment of a Cost Accountant. This is a high-visibility role working closely with Finance, Production, Commercial and Operations teams, playing a key part in driving product profitability and business performance.

The Role

This position sits at the heart of operational finance, with responsibility for product costing, margin analysis, forecasting and factory performance reporting. You will provide the financial insight that supports decision-making across the site, ensuring accurate costing models and robust analysis are in place to protect and improve margins.

Key Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant:

• Own and manage complete, accurate and timely product costing, including assumptions and supporting workings
• Challenge and review costing metrics to ensure overhead absorption and cost accuracy
• Produce detailed and insightful gross margin analysis by customer and product
• Maintain and develop scenario-based costing models to enable flexible and responsive output
• Manage and continuously update live Sales and Cost of Sales forecast and budget models
• Deliver clear comparisons, commentary and exception reporting to support commercial challenge
• Provide robust FP&A insight into product and customer performance
• Monitor and report on factory efficiency, downtime, wastage and other operational cost drivers
• Support budget submissions in line with agreed time frames

About You:

• Manufacturing experience, including hands-on product costing
• Proven experience in a costing-focused role
• Strong initiative, problem-solving ability and communication skills
• Self-starter with a results-driven mindset
