An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join a growing organisation based in Leeds. This role will take primary responsibility for the billing and sales ledger function, ensuring the accurate and timely production of invoices, effective management of customer accounts and support of monthly reporting requirements. This is a structured, deadline‑driven role within a busy finance environment where consistency, ownership and attention to detail are essential.

The Role

You will take ownership of the end-to-end billing and sales ledger process, including:

  • Administration of the full invoice generation process
  • Production and distribution of high‑volume sales invoices
  • Amendment and maintenance of customer agreements within the finance system
  • Production and distribution of customer statements
  • Matching and posting of customer payments
  • Investigating and resolving customer invoice queries promptly
  • Setting up and maintaining customer accounts
  • Ensuring billing accuracy in line with agreed terms and internal deadlines
  • Supporting monthly reporting, including debtor analysis and reconciliations
  • Assisting with month‑end processes linked to revenue and debtor balances
  • Contributing to ongoing improvements within the finance function
The Candidate The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
  • Previous experience within a Sales Ledger, Accounts Receivable or billing‑focused Accounts Assistant role
  • Experience producing high volumes of invoices accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Ability to work to structured monthly reporting cycles
  • Good Excel skills and confidence using finance systems
  • A dependable, organised and proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small team
