Financial Controller - Europe

This is a proper top of the tree Financial Controller role.

Not a “keep the lights on” job. Not a back-office reporting post. It’s a senior finance role with ownership, influence, and trust.

We’re helping a long-established global engineering business hire a Financial Controller for its flagship European hub. You’ll own the finances for the UK and internationally.

People will listen to you here.

• You’ll be running the numbers and helping the business understand them.
• You’ll work closely with GMs, challenge decisions when needed, and improve how things are done without fighting politics or egos, finance is respected. Leadership is approachable, the environment is calm, stable, and well run.
• If you like autonomy, clarity, and being trusted to do your job properly, this will suit you.

• Own financial control for the UK & internationally
• Lead month-end, forecasting, budgeting, and audits
• Provide clear, commercial insight to senior leaders
• Develop a strong, capable finance team
• Improve processes where they need improving

• Experience in multi-entity or international environments
• Comfortable taking ownership and making decisions
• Commercial, grounded, and able to influence without noise
• This suits someone who wants to be the finance lead, not just the “numbers person.”

• £70–75k base salary – competitive for a senior, high-responsibility role
