Job Description
Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long‑term client relationships. Protect the company’s reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client groups within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
Accountabilities- Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients – identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs.
- Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client/prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long‑term commercial reward.
- Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing the company to undue risk.
- Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal policies and standards.
- Maintain service/group relationships – referrals to group colleagues.
- Advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well‑developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
- Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, conduct performance appraisal and determine reward outcomes.
- For individuals with leadership responsibilities, demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned with the organisation’s values.
- For an individual contributor, lead collaborative assignments, guide team members, identify the need for inclusion of other specialisations and determine new directions to achieve outcomes.
- Consult on complex issues and provide advice to senior leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work performed.
Support the Senior Private Banker with growing a portfolio of ultra‑high‑net‑worth clients, understanding their financial goals and risk appetite. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing exceptional service and financial advice. Conduct regular reviews of clients’ investment and financial portfolios. Become a key subject matter expert within the team for banking products, credit advice, investment knowledge and complex client queries.
Deliver high‑quality bespoke advice, maximizing value for clients and negotiating the best commercial outcome. Identify and onboard new clients through networking, referrals, and strategic partnerships. Develop and execute tailored strategies to attract and retain wealthy clients in the region. Attend client events, wealth management forums, and other high‑profile gatherings in London. Advise on portfolio management, estate planning, succession, and offshore structuring where relevant.
Keep clients informed on market trends, economic updates, and investment opportunities.
- Level 4 RDR qualified or equivalent.
- Exceptional client servicing and relationship management skills with Ultra‑High‑Net‑worth Clients and demonstrable experience in building and managing this client base.
- Previous experience in controlling and monitoring risk within a client book.
- Strong knowledge of global economic and political conditions, current affairs and competitor activity and the impact of these on clients.
- Previous experience working as a Private Banker with a client base with investable assets of a minimum of £3m.
- Excellent knowledge of regulated credit agreements, investment advice, deposits, portfolio management services, financial promotions.
- High aptitude and understanding of the digital landscape, with the ability to effectively manage clients’ changing needs in this area.
This role is based in Leeds. The role is deemed a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority – Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the holder to maintain mandatory regulatory qualifications and meet internal company benchmarks.
