Assistant Management Accountant

Job description

This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA part-qualified (or actively studying) Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant to join a well-established and growing organisation within the Professional Services sector.

Reporting directly to the Senior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function by delivering accurate financial information, assisting with management reporting, and providing valuable insight to support commercial decision‑making across the business.

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly and annual management accounts, ensuring deadlines are met
• Supporting the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process alongside the Senior Management Accountant
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies or variances
• Producing variance analysis with meaningful commentary on financial and operational performance
• Preparing management reports and financial information for senior leadership meetings
• Assisting with month‑end activities, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Maintaining accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company procedures
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes and reporting
• Providing ad hoc support across the wider finance team as required

The successful candidate will ideally be studying towards, or keen to commence, a CIMA or ACCA qualification. You will have previous experience in a Management Accounts, Financial Accounts, Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, or Finance Assistant role, and be looking to build on your technical accounting knowledge while developing your commercial finance skills within a supportive and progressive business.
