How You'll Make a Difference

Your exceptional leadership capabilities will inspire and empower, as you shape and strengthen our approach to prudential, enterprise and climate risk. You will lead independent second line oversight across some of the most critical risk areas in the business, providing confident, constructive challenge at Executive and Board level.

By owning and evolving our risk frameworks and risk reporting, you will help ensure the Society remains resilient, well governed and focused on long-term sustainability for our members.

We're proud of our inclusive culture and you'll preserve and elevate this; inspiring people through authentic role modelling of our behaviours, while deliberately and consistently driving high performance as you coach and nurture talent.

What will you bring to the role?
  • Strong prudential expertise, SME for market, liquidity, capital and funding risks, including ICAAP, ILAAP and RRP production
  • SME in PRA regulation.
  • Proven experience operating at Executive and Board level, and the confidence to influence, challenge and drive continuous improvement across the Society.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and transform strategy into delivery.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to role model, care, connect and coach to drive performance, change, positive engagement and deliver against challenging objectives
In return, you'll get the best from us:
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office which could be either Leeds or Cobalt (Newcastle)
  • Annual bonus up to 20%
  • Matched pension contributions up to 10%
  • 30 days holiday, plus bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme
  • Colleague Mortgage and Saver products
  • 2 days' volunteering per year

We'll give you a place to belong with the support to learn, develop and shape a meaningful career.

We're devoted to creating a culture and workplace that is representative of the communities we serve.
