The Finance Reporting Manager will report into the Finance Manager. The role will lead a team responsible for all transactions and processes in relation to the operational costs of LCCC and ESC. The role is responsible for preparing management accounts, internal reporting and the DESNZ submissions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver effective management reporting to management and the Board, including the quarterly report, providing reports that Finance Business Partners can use in discussions with the business to understand financial performance, including insights regarding variances to forecast, causes and future trends.
- Own the reporting process to DESNZ, or another Government department, ensuring adherence to the current Finance Reporting letter.
- Develop monthly reporting with scheme, cost centre and funding scheme aggregations, ensuring auditability of apportionments and process.
- Oversee processes and controls for ensuring the business allocates time between schemes.
- Work with the Planning Manager to ensure scheme allocations used reflect actual observations and feed into future forecasts.
- Own reporting on projects managed through the Change process, including intangible assets that are internally and externally generated.
- Manage the actual submission process to DESNZ and the business partner relationship with DESNZ Finance Business Partners.
- Line manage the Management Accountant, Assistant Manager and Accounts Analysts.
- Oversee the process for invoicing DESNZ, or another Government department, and intercompany.
- Oversee prepayments, accruals and other operational cost month end tasks, collaborating with the External Reporting Manager, New Schemes Accountant and Lead Settlement Accountant to ensure alignment with IFRS and LCCC accounting policies.
- Oversee the VAT submission performed by the Accounts Analysts.
- Own the relationship with Datel and become LCCC’s Sage reporting expert, enabling expansion to report on future new schemes.
- Manage Reporting team KPIs and the Finance and Procurement Scorecard KPIs.
- Work with the External Reporting Manager at year end as required, contributing to the statutory accounts process.
- Oversee Finance authorisation and controls in the procure to pay process.
- Support and deputise for the Planning Manager or other members of the team when required.
- Oversee the payroll process in collaboration with the People team.
- Oversee the operational expenditure payment process.
- Oversee submissions to DESNZ and the working relationship with the RED Finance Business Partners.
- Oversee procurement of new Expenses system including scoping, supplier selection, implementation and oversight of new process within team.
- Undertake ad hoc work arising within the team.
- A fully qualified accountant with a recognised body and relevant post qualification experience.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience of financial model building with multiple dimensions, for example cost centres and business units or schemes.
