Job Title: Response Officer Night Only (Temporary)
Salary: B3 £ 26,403 - £28,142 pro rata + shift allowance & weekend enhancements
Hours: 35.25 hours

Location: Leeds watch
As a Response Officer Nights only, you will thrive on working as a team to provide a professional and responsive service to residents who complain about excessive out of hours noise, working 35.25 Hours per week on a 4 days on 4 days off shift rota. The role attracts a shift allowance and weekend enhancements pro rata.
The Nights only shift commences at 17:00 and finishes at 04:00, the post is temporary until 31 July 2026.

About YouAs a Response Officer you will:
- Respond to and witness noise complaints and address these by asking perpetrators to take steps to stop/reduce noise levels
- Undertake paperwork to record what you have witnessed and attend court as required
- Undertake routine patrol and security checks at various locations
- Ability to Drive and hold a full driving license
- Ability to pass Police vetting
- Ability to keep accurate records and to understand regulations, policy, and legislation
- Willingness to attend court and give evidence, as required
- Ability to work on own initiative, accept responsibility and make decisions within agreed criteria.
- Ability to deal with conflicting or difficult situations should they arise
- You will have excellent communication skills and be a team player. You will be motivated and a critical thinker with the ability to understand the needs of your customers.
A Full Drivers Licence is essential for this role.
This post is subject to a higher level Police Vetting check. Please note that a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining employment; this will depend on the circumstances and background to any offence.
Experience in this field or previous SIA Security training would be advantageous but not essential.
About the RoleAs a Response Officer (nights only) you will work in pairs to establish whether any reports of Noise Nuisance constitute a nuisance as per Section 79 (1) of Environmental Protection Act 1990 or under the Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime & Policing Act 2014. You will ensure a responsive, professional service is always provided to customers and partners to support crime reduction, in line with the Safer Leeds Plan.
