Healthcare Assistants will provide clinical treatment and holistic care to ambulatory patients referred from primary care and neighbourhood teams. The role requires resilience, motivation, and adaptability, with a passion for wound care and patient-centred support. Staff will work independently in clinic settings, with access to registered clinicians for advice via MS Teams or phone.
Key Responsibilities- Provide wound care, catheter care, and injections within scope of practice
- Manage patients in clinic settings, following health and safety and risk assessments
- Carry out moving and handling techniques when required
- Complete statutory, mandatory, and in-service training
- Attend clinical supervision regularly
- Manage clinic diaries and provide advice to patients, carers, and administration staff
- Promote patient self-management where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with citywide services (Falls, Continence, Urology, Colorectal Care, Palliative and End of Life Care, and GP services)
- Ability to provide person-centred care
- Resilience, motivation, and adaptability in a changing environment
- Commitment to patient safety, dignity, and continuous improvement
- Experience in wound care or ambulatory clinic settings
