The paediatric pharmacy team at Leeds Children's Hospital have an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, friendly, and forward-thinking service as a Band 6 Pharmacist.
Paediatric pharmacy is one of the most rewarding and dynamic areas of practice. No two days are the same: you may be calculating and preparing highly individualised doses for a premature baby in neonatal intensive care, supporting complex treatment plans for children with long-term conditions, or working with families to ensure medicines are used safely 's a specialty that demands problem-solving, adaptability and creativity, as many medicines are unlicensed in children and require thoughtful, individualised solutions.
Working in paediatrics offers the chance to be part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team where your expertise directly improves outcomes for some of our most vulnerable patients, and where you can see the positive impact of your input on a child's health and future.
- Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services directly to patients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Gain exposure to a variety paediatric specialties with the support of experienced senior pharmacists.
- Contribute to medicines optimisation, safe prescribing and discharge planning
- Build on your clinical knowledge of medicines optimisation within the interesting role of paediatric pharmacy
- As part of your development, you will be trained and supported to take on more specialist responsibilities, including contributing to the children's warfarin clinic and becoming aseptically competent.
Based within Leeds General Infirmary, in the centre of Leeds, the Leeds Children's Hospital is one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK and treats patients from across Yorkshire and the North of England as a secondary and tertiary referral centre.

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy
- Registrant of GPhC
Other Criteria:
- Communication written and verbal to patients
- Good time management
- Good problem solver
Experience:
- Minimum 6 month hospital pre-registration or 1 year post qualified in community pharmacy in the UK
Skills and Behaviours:
- Knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice
- Ability to interpret and deliver medicines information
- Team player
- Motivated and enthusiastic
