The Fearnville Service (Leeds LS8) is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Support Worker to provide high‑quality care to clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This full‑time role (37.5 hours/week) pays £22,368 pa and requires a full UK driving licence.
Job OverviewAs a Support Worker, you will support clients to live their best life, fostering independence and participation in social activities such as cinema, bowling, shopping and local football matches.
Main Responsibilities- Prepare and update person‑centred support plans in line with clients’ views and aspirations.
- Support clients to fulfill their aspirations, maintain independence, and participate in social visits, activities and outings.
- Communicate openly and transparently with clients, carers, and the team, acting with integrity.
- Provide personal care while respecting clients’ choices and dignity, including washing and toileting support.
- Maintain accurate daily notes, records and account for client care activities.
- Assist with household duties such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and other domestic tasks as required.
- Comply with health and safety procedures, including manual handling, fire safety and infection control.
- Use appropriate equipment (hoists, wheelchairs, etc.) and assist clients in moving safely.
- Carry out the physical requirements of the role, including stairs, night work and occasional heavy lifting.
- Use basic IT skills (Word, Outlook, internet) and pursue relevant care qualifications.
- Provide a supportive environment to protect clients from abuse and exploitation.
- Cooperate with inspectors and health‑care professionals during quality inspections.
- Work collaboratively as a team member and liaise effectively with families and external stakeholders.

- Essential:
Care Certificate or willingness to obtain it. - Full UK driving licence.
- Experience in a care setting (desirable).
- Experience providing personal and domestic care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer use (Word, Outlook).
- Physical ability to climb stairs, use hoists, and work nights.
- Willingness to undergo DBS and Rehabilitation of Offenders checks.
