The Cardio-Respiratory department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals is looking torecruit an Associate Practitioner to support the non-invasive cardiac physiology services. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cardiac Physiologists/Scientists and assist them with high quality diagnostics including ambulatory analysis, exercise tolerance testing,cardio-pulmonary exercise test and tilt table services.
Main duties of the jobWeare looking for individuals with clinical experience and knowledge in cardiology. Applicants should have the ability to record, interpret andreport ECG's as a minimum and hold certification. The SCST ECG diploma is desirable.
The successful applicant will support the ambulatory cardiac monitoring services,analysing and reporting ECG recordings from cardiac monitors and escalating abnormal findings to the senior clinical team. The successful applicant willalso assist the Cardiac Physiologists/Scientists with performing exercise tolerance tests and full cardiopulmonary exercise tests. They will play a keyrole in non-invasive services and support our ECG team with some leadership responsibilities such as co-ordinating daily tasks for Senior Assistant Technical officers and Assistant Technical Officers alongside the senior leadership team.
In addition, the role will include administrative duties such as stock level management and ordering. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be a role model to others and have the ability to demonstrate exemplary patient centered care. .

Jobresponsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Clinical Duties
Carries out all aspects of clinical and administration work as approved by their line manager, working within established codes of practice and local departmental standard operating procedures.
To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspect of own work, including the management of patients in your care and dealing with their specific needs.
Routinely undertakes assessment ofboth in-patients and out-patients prior to a range of investigations and usesown discretion in order to ensure the patient is suitable for the investigation.
Communicates with all members ofthe multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible care for patients,including: negotiating, reassurance, empathy, and persuasiveness.
Communicates sensitive information about routine and complex investigations to patients and relatives/carers including children and those with learning and/or physical disabilities.
Calibrates and manipulates a widerange of complex, expensive, technical equipment which process, create,update and store information. Identifies any automatically generated reports that are false and or inaccurate, escalating any errors to the appropriate member of LTHT staff.
