A leading specialist in Construction is currently seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join an expanding team in the North of England. This is a pivotal role for a professional who thrives on variety, balancing a strategic presence at the Leeds head office with high-impact, “boots on the ground” support across a diverse range of project sites.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative environment where safety is viewed as a cornerstone of operational excellence. This role is ideal for an individual who prefers a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to safety over a purely administrative one.
The RemitReporting to the Principal Health & Safety Manager, the Advisor will act as a key point of contact for site teams, ensuring that safety standards are not just met, but exceeded.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving Culture:
Promoting a positive, “safety‑first” mindset across M&E projects, maintenance, and facilities management operations. - Site Assurance:
Conducting regular site audits and inspections, producing high-quality reports that offer actionable insights. - Technical Review:
Evaluating health and safety documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), to ensure compliance and practical application. - Engagement:
Delivering engaging safety briefings and toolbox talks to a varied workforce. - Incident Management:
Supporting incident investigations and maintaining professional liaison with clients and principal contractors.
The company is looking for a confident, approachable professional who can work independently and build strong working relationships at all levels.
- Qualifications:
A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate is essential. - Experience:
Previous experience within the construction industry is required, with a preference for those with an M&E background. - Mindset: A supportive, “solutions‑focused” attitude. The Advisor should be able to provide practical assistance to real‑life site challenges.
- Backgrounds:
Applications from Armed Forces leavers with relevant transferable skills and a commitment to health and safety are highly encouraged. - Logistics: A full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the Northern region are required.
