Position: Radiographer (XR06)

We currently have an opportunity available to join our enthusiastic, motivated and friendly team, working in one of the largest cardiac catheter lab suites in the UK.

If you wish to pursue a career in Cardiac Radiography we canoffer you the opportunities needed to develop your existing skill set, and totrain to the highest level of expertise. Whilst previous cardiac / angiographicexperience is preferable, full training will be provided.

The department currently has six catheter labs, and we havejust completed a multi-million pound contract to update all six of our labs tothe most current technology and state of the art software on the market. Wealso opened our specialist bi-plane paediatric Hybrid lab in April 2019 which provides treatment for children with the most complex congenital heart problems across the Yorkshire and Humber areas.

The unit is a regional centre for paediatric and adult congenital heart disease and a tertiary referral centre for adult coronary intervention.

There will be a commitment to partake in the on call service, as well as extended working hours in both areas following supervised training, and the post holder must have the ability to transport themselves tothe department within 30 minutes of being called out (i.e. personal transportation) or stay on site for on call.

As a Band 6 Radiographer in the Cardiac Catheter Lab, youwill play a crucial role in providing high-quality imaging and patient careacross a variety of complex cardiac procedures.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

Performing diagnostic and interventional radiographic procedures in our state-of-the-art catheter labs.

Supporting multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality patient care across a wide range of specialties, including coronary angiography, Electrophysiology studies, pacemaker/device implantation,congenital and paediatric procedures and TAVI.

Contributing to departmental audits, quality assurance activities, and patient safety initiatives.

Maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring thatall imaging protocols are followed correctly.

Engaging in research opportunities and staying up-to-datewith the latest developments in interventional cardiology.

Working flexibly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment,adapting to changing priorities as needed.

You will have the opportunity to work with an experienced and supportive team, offering you invaluable exposure to cutting-edge clinical practices and a wide range of complex procedures.

Full equipment training will be provided as part of the mentorship programme, as well training on imaging protocols and standards of image quality. As a Band 6 Radiographer you will be required to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Clinicians, Nurses and Cardiac Physiologists. The successful candidates will need to be flexible and will participate in department 24/7 shift patterns including on call working.
