Cardio-Respiratory are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Radiographer to join our teamof #Exceptional People who provide #Excellent Care and to work in one of theUKs leading BSCMR accredited centres for Cardiac MRI excellence with aworld-leading reputation for its high impact research, clinical service and educational training.
The Cardiac MRI department is offering the opportunity to apply for a Band 7
Annex 21 Radiographer training position or a Band 7 Cardiac MRI radiographer.
Under the Annex 21 scheme the successful applicant will undertake a full 18months supervised and assessed training programme to learn the advanced MRIskills and techniques required to independently perform a wide range of advanced cardiac MRI investigations. An initial salary review of the successful applicant will ensure that the training salary is maximised inline with current national standards and once satisfying the training goalsset, on assessed completion of the training programme, they will progress toa Band 7 position.
The Band 7 position will be offered to a successful candidate who demonstrates the required cardiac skillset and the experience.

orkingalongside specialised Cardiac MRI Radiographers the successful applicant will become an integral part of the team providing support to both clinical NHSand research scanning. This integration between the two services offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your current skill base and develop your specialist skills all whilst contributing to research and innovation. Youwill have excellent communication skills, have a patient centred approach andbe ready to learn and expand your knowledge and skillset.
Thesuccesful applicant will receive training in all aspects of Cardiac MRI utilising Philips and Siemens scanners at both 1.5T & 3.0T field strengths. The department currently operates 08:00-20:00 Monday to Sunday.
Asa department, continual professional development of our staff is our main priority with many available in-house training opportunities including sub-specialisation in paediatric MRI and involvement in research.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Clinical Responsibilities
1. To act as Operator, Practitioner and, where necessary, Referrer within their own scope of practice, by clinically justifying examinations as defined in IR(ME)
R 2017 and local protocols.
2. To be able to justify imaging request cards in accordance with IR(ME)
R 2017 Section 6 Paragraph 5 and, in the absence of a Radiologist advise referring clinicians of the most appropriate investigation.
3. To collaborate with cardiologists andLead CMRI Radiologists in the planning and evaluation of imaging protocols for patient examinations, in addition develop new protocols and techniques inline with technical advances in area of speciality and to ensure all staff within the department are trained accordingly.
4. To match the clinical indications presented by the referrer to a departmental protocol with the freedom tomodify protocols where appropriate to optimise diagnostic information in viewof clinical indications, imaging findings or patient condition.
5. To work as an autonomous practitioner using specialised skills to ensure optimum quality using lowest possible radiation doses where appropriate.
6. To have a high degree of professional/personal autonomy with the ability to make clinical judgements/decisions using knowledge, skills and experience with freedom/discretion to act independently.
7. To recognise and act upon unexpected critical findings on imaging in the absence of a radiologist, e.g. patients requiring acute admission or referral to specialist outpatient clinics.
