TheNIHR (National Institute of Health and Care Research) Yorkshire and Humber Regional Research Delivery Network is looking for a passionate and strategic leader to drive public engagement and inclusion in research.

Thisrole offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact working with our diverse communities, health and social care partners and national stakeholders to ensure research is accessible, inclusive and meaningful for everyone.

Youwill have excellent communication, facilitation and engagement skills and have experience of working in community engagement and with underserved groups. Youwill build trusted relationships, spot opportunities to do things differentlyand help colleagues navigate new ways of working. You'll bring curiosity,empathy and confidence when working with a wide range of groups and you willenjoy the challenge of influencing across different settings.

This role is a part time position (0.6 WTE, 22.5 hrsper week). We offer a hybrid, flexible working policy with offices in Leeds and Sheffield.

Main duties of the job

The Regional Community Engagement and Inclusion Manager will act as a strategiclead for engagement and inclusion across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

Inthis role, you will work in partnership with a range of stakeholders,including community groups, ICBs and NIHR partners, to ensure a coordinatedapproach to public engagement and research inclusion across health, care and community settings. Your main duties will include:

Leading initiatives that amplifypublic voices and embed inclusion in research delivery

Build strong partnerships withcommunities, researchers and health systems

Contribute to national and regionalstrategies that shape the future of health and care research

Building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders across the region, supportinginclusive approaches and increasing participation from under-served groups

Coordinating regional initiatives,facilitate meetings and workshops, and contribute to national programmes suchas Be Part of Research and Join Dementia Research

Contribute to NHS England (DHSC) ledcommunity engagement initiatives across the Yorkshire and Humber region to increase participation in research

Collecting, analysing and reportingqualitative and quantitative data to demonstrate impact and inform continuous improvement

Providing strategic advice on engagement and inclusion, support public partners, and help embed consistent,high-quality practice across the region

Using excellent communication,problem-solving and influencing skills to navigate complex issues, managesensitive conversations and promote collaboration

Championing the voice of communities toensure health and care research reflects local needs

Person Specification Additional Requirements
  • Ability to coordinate, collect and analyse a range of qualitative and quantitative data, identifying areas of concern, production of reports and solution-based recommendations
  • A proven ability to build, maintain and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across health and social care settings, community based organisations and VSCOs
