Position: Receptionist / Care Navigator

Job Summary

Bramley Village Health and Wellbeing Centre is looking for a full‑time Care Navigator based primarily at the Middleton Park site (LS10 4HT
). Travel to Bramley (LS13 2BL
) and Cottingley (LS11 0HJ
) may be required.

The role involves greeting patients, managing communication between patients and medical staff, and facilitating patient access to appropriate healthcare services efficiently. You will be the first point of contact, scheduling appointments, managing patient records, answering phone calls, and providing patients with information about healthcare services. The position requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and a patient‑centric approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Management – Greet patients, verify information and direct them to appropriate departments.
  • Appointment booking – Efficiently schedule appointments using practice systems.
  • Telephone & eConsultation enquiries – Handle calls, provide information, take messages and process eConsultations.
  • Patient Records Management – Maintain and update records accurately and in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Summarising – Summarise medical records, code and scan patient correspondence.
  • Administrative work – Perform other related tasks as required.
  • Healthcare Provider Liaison – Act as a liaison between patients and providers, ensuring clear communication of schedules and treatment plans.
  • Resource Navigation – Guide patients to available resources such as special clinics and community services.
  • Patient Follow‑Up – Contact patients about appointments, treatment plans and care strategies.
  • Resource Management – Manage front‑office supplies and ensure patient areas are stocked.
  • Safety Protocols – Maintain cleanliness and safety of the reception area.
  • Feedback Collection – Collect and compile patient feedback to drive improvement.
  • Service Enhancement – Participate in initiatives to improve patient satisfaction.
  • Training & Development – Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills related to patient care and administrative management.

Middleton Park Surgery is one of three surgeries across Leeds that form Bramley Health, serving over 7,000 local patients and an additional 17,500 from the wider region. Bramley Village Health and Wellbeing Centre is managed by The Fuller and Forbes Healthcare Group, which provides care to more than 110,000 patients.

Pay scheme:
Permanent, full‑time, £12.21 per hour plus £0.50 per hour sick pay bonus. Salary subject to change on 26 April 2026.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential – Core GCSEs (additional training in customer service or administration is preferred).
  • Experience – Proven experience in a receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting; knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare operations beneficial.
  • Technical – Proficiency using medical office software (Systm One, patient management systems) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
  • Communication – Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Organisational – Exceptional organisational and time‑management skills, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Desirable – Strong customer service orientation, conflict‑resolution skills, adaptability, willingness to take on additional responsibilities, teamwork, ability to support a team administratively, commitment to ethical standards and professionalism, proactive personal development.
