Use your expertise to champion neurodiversity at Afrikindness — helping embed inclusive, affirming values, improve accessibility, and shape safer, more supportive spaces for neurodivergent families, volunteers, and staff across our programmes and culture.

What difference will you make?

Your expertise will ensure Afrikindness is truly inclusive and responsive to neurodivergent families and volunteers. You'll help us embed neurodiversity-affirming values across our work, improve accessibility, and create safer, more supportive spaces for everyone. Your input will directly shape our programmes and culture.

What are we looking for?
  • Professional qualification, training, or substantial lived experience in neurodiversity (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, etc.)
  • Knowledge of neurodiversity-affirming practice, advocacy, or education
  • Passionate about inclusion, accessibility, and challenging stigma
  • Comfortable advising, training, or contributing to organisational development
  • Respectful, collaborative, and able to communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Commitment to co-production and valuing diverse perspectives
What will you be doing?
  • Advise on neurodiversity-affirming approaches in programme design and delivery
  • Review and co-create resources, training materials, and communication content through a neurodiversity lens
  • Deliver training sessions or workshops for staff, volunteers, or parents on neurodiversity awareness and inclusion
  • Provide guidance on making webinars, events, and services more accessible for neurodivergent participants
  • Share insights from lived experience and/or professional expertise to challenge ableism and promote strengths-based approaches
  • Support the development of policies and practices that champion neurodiversity within the organisation
  • Contribute to impact evaluation and feedback mechanisms
