An exciting new opportunity has arisen within the Catering Service Delivery teamfor a new band 3 Supervisor to work as part of the team of catering service delivery experts in assisting to deliver service excellence to the Leeds Teaching Hospitals patients.
The patient catering service at Leeds is about to enter a period of exciting changeand development in the delivery of excellence in patient catering services.
This is a very unique role and will be highly rewarding for the successful candidate

Main duties of the jobThepost holder will be responsible for the day to day supervision of a team ofstaff in the completion of their duties in line with local & Trust policies and procedures. A significant proportion of the role will involve the coaching & development of the catering and customer service skills offront line Ward Housekeeping staff - including other Team Leaders and Managers - to ensure that all ward level Patient food services are delivered in a professional manner, in line with the department expectations and to the appropriate legislative and nationally required standards.
Other areas offocus of the role are the completion of product development evaluations &trials; assisting in new service roll outs and the delivery of training &briefing sessions.
Supervisory experience, Food Safety Level 3, and Hygiene in Health & Social Care Level 2, are all desirable, but training will be provided to the success candidate if required. Skills and abilities required are included below

Person Specification Skills & Behaviours- Computer literate with experience of using data management and technical systems.
- Good communication skills: provide examples of where you have used influencing or conflict resolution skills to achieve a positive outcome.
- Understanding of cooking techniques and food performance.
- Cultural awareness and a positive approach to diversity.
- Level 3 Team leadership/Management (or ability to obtain within 6 months of appointment)
- Level 3 food hygiene (or ability to obtain within 6 months of appointment)
- Health and Safety or HACCP Level 3 qualification
- Experience of managing staff and dealing with a range of HR issues such as: performance, attendance, workforce planning, etc.
- Describe the key elements needed to deliver a successful catering service and your experience in each area.
- Understanding the impact and risks of service delivery in an acute hospital environment Evidence of leading and developing service improvements
- Understanding of different dietary requirements and the impact of nutrition on patient recovery
