Weare seeking to appoint an inspirational, influential leader to cover maternity leave for a 12 month period. They need to be confident and dynamic with the ability to inspire and support staff. The post holder will have a passion for working within the delivery suite environment and committed to lead the team on Delivery Suite.

Theideal candidate will be visible with excellent communication and organisational skills to provide leadership and coordination of the area.

Main duties of the job

The successful midwife will be responsible for managing a team of Midwives and Maternity Support Workers. This post will be predominantly management with the expectation to work clinically on delivery suite where required. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high standards of midwifery and clinical care. They will make decisions based on upon knowledge,compassion, and experience in respect to intrapartum care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing human resources, patient experience,equipment, and stock within budget limits. By being a role model and demonstrating high levels of competence they will advise and support staff toensure they are aware of their roles and responsibilities and are committed to achieving the vision and values of the Leeds way.

LTHTis made up of two large teaching hospitals, and has an annual birth rate ofover 10,000. The post holder will workat both acute units and liaise with relevant health professionals within the Trust and primary care colleagues in Leeds.

Therole requires direct management of a team of midwives and maternity support workers.

The jobholder is responsible for the ward/department clinical budget as determined by finance for each year.

The Jobholder will have responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the maternity ward/department).They will provide clinical and professional management and leadership for the team. The jobholder is responsible for ensuring the assessment ofcare needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care are maintained to a high standard.

They will manage the administrative and financial aspects ofWard/department and ensuring cost effective use of resources,
