Introduction

to the role

The Oliver McGowan Co-Trainer (Learning Disability / Autistic) supports the delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism alongside a Lead Trainer.

Drawing on the lived experience of learning disability and/or autism, the Co-Trainer shares personal insights to help health and social care staff better understand the experiences, needs and rights of people they support. The role ensures training is authentic, person-centred and grounded in a real-life perspective.

Brief outline of the role

As a Co-Trainer, you will work alongside a Lead Trainer / Facilitator to deliver the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training. You will share your lived experience to help staff understand why good, person-centred support matters.
