Support Worker

Starting salary £12.71ph, rising to £12.91 after successful completion of probation, increasing to £13.45 after a further 12 months in post.
This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support within a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. The position focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all residents.
The role is available on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week) and part-time options (30 hours and 24 hours per week). Support Workers are required to work a rota that includes a combination of early shifts (starting at 07:30), late shifts, and sleepover shifts, ensuring continuous care and support for residents.
Main responsibilities- Deliver high-quality, person-centred support, ensuring that each individual’s preferences, needs, and choices are respected at all times.
- Work in accordance with individual support plans, regularly reviewing and updating them to ensure care is delivered in the way each person wishes.
- Support individuals with daily living activities, promoting independence, confidence, and overall wellbeing.
- Administer medication safely and accurately in line with agreed procedures and training.
- Facilitate and support participation in social, recreational, and community-based activities to promote inclusion and quality of life.
- Maintain accurate records, including report writing and the completion of detailed daily interaction notes.
- Support and manage financial transactions on behalf of individuals where required, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Build positive, respectful relationships with individuals, supporting communication and emotional wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and professionals to ensure consistent and effective support delivery.

Essential criteria:
- Personal Experience in Care.
- Able to work a variety of shifts – including early, late, sleep‑ins, weekends and bank holidays.
