Job Summary

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic engineering technician to join our team of clinical technologists in Radiotherapy Technology Services (RTS), part of Medical Physics and Engineering sited in the Oncology Clinical Service Unit es University Hospital, Leeds. The role involves supporting the clinical radiotherapy service through repair and maintenance of cancer treatment and clinical computing systems, and contributing to the design and development of devices that improve patient care and staff experience.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn, good team‑working skills, the ability to use initiative, and engineering proficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical technical services and technical advice for radiotherapy technology users.
  • Carry out supervised maintenance and calibration tasks on medical equipment.
  • Assist in providing technical services for research and development activities.
  • Produce custom‑made treatment devices and manufacture other medical and non‑medical devices per local procedures and work instructions.
  • Participate in the RTS ISO 9001 quality system and comply with the quality policy, quality manual, related procedures, work instructions, and Medical Devices Regulations.
  • Assist in quality system administrative tasks, including calibration and inspection or test & measuring equipment calibration.
  • Accurately record all relevant information and maintain records according to Trust and departmental procedures, often in electronic format.

Benefits
