Housekeeper

Housekeepers are responsible to provide and maintain cleaning and catering services as part of the Hotel Services team to office, patient and communal areas within the Trust, ensuring a clean, safe and supportive environment for staff and patients working towards their recovery.

You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care, putting patients at the heart of everything you do. You will work in a multi‑professional team and must be able to think on the spot, be empathetic and passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

We require a friendly, positive‑thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Housekeeper, part‑time (15 hours) within the Trust's Hotel Services Team.

The post holder will be based at Foss Park Hospital, York, YO31 8TA
, and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 7 am‑6 pm Monday to Sunday on a rota basis including Bank Holidays.

You should be highly motivated, reliable, flexible and willing to work on short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.

Experience in cleaning duties and use of chemicals and equipment is essential as you will be working in a demanding environment. Catering and food service experience would be beneficial along with a passion for providing high standards of customer service.

Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is essential, as is the ability to provide a positive approach and image when working with relevant client groups throughout the Trust.

Candidates must possess a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or be working towards successful completion in an agreed timescale.

In addition, the postholder is required to hold essential qualifications in Numeracy, Literacy and IT Level 2 (Equivalent to GCSE grades 9 to
4).

NVQ Level 2 Housekeeping is desirable. All candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undertake further training and qualifications as deemed necessary for the position within agreed timescales.
