Position: Sexual Offence Examiner - West Yorkshire SARC - 36 Hrs

West Yorkshire SARC
Salary: £45,615.20 FTE based on 42 hours per week (£20.83 per hour) | Full Time Position - 36 hours per week

Hours:

rota basis 24/7 shift cover Monday-Sunday, a combination of 09:00-20:59 and 21:00-08:59 shifts

Job responsibilities
  • Forensic examinations and obtaining forensic exhibits.
  • Develop forensic strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
  • Actively work in partnership with external MDTs and Police.
  • Be the 1st point of contact for victims, Police and Social Services to discuss referral pathways.
  • Manage and promote the self-referral pathway.
  • Undertake holistic assessments including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding.
  • Produce individual management plans.
  • Support the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements.
  • Obtain consent for health and forensic procedures.
Essential skills / Qualifications
  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic.
  • A minimum of 3 years or more relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults.
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality.
  • Experience of autonomous working.
  • Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner role, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2) b and 7(2) e.
  • UK driving license and access to a vehicle; travel across SARC locations may be required.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required.
