Job Description & How to Apply Below
Some of the people we support have been through repeated placement breakdowns, hospital admissions, or years of restrictive care before they came to us. They present with self-injury, physical aggression, sexualised behaviour, non-epileptic seizures, and the kind of distress that exhausts a staff team if that team is not properly held. Our job is to make sure those placements hold and that our people are skilled and supported enough to make that happen.
That is the job. What you will do Provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist input for our most complex individuals formulation, PBS planning, risk work and clinical oversight. Work alongside Registered Managers and Team Leaders as their clinical support: coaching them through incidents, reflective practice, post-incident debriefs and difficult decisions. Lead our restrictive practice reduction work, so that restriction reduces year on year and every use is recorded, reviewed and justified.
Build trauma-informed practice into the way our services actually run not as a training slide, but as the way staff respond d the clinical relationship with community mental health teams, learning disability teams, psychiatry, psychology, speech and language therapy and commissioners. Support new placements at referral, assessment and transition, so that people arrive into a service that knows what it is doing.
Contribute to clinical governance, incident analysis, and the training our staff receive. What you will bring Current NMC registration as an RMN, with no restrictions on practice. Substantial post-registration experience in mental health, learning disability or complex behaviour services. Real depth in Positive Behaviour Support functional assessment, PBS planning, and restrictive practice reduction. A trauma-informed approach that you can explain, teach and defend.
The ability to coach and develop managers and team leaders, not just deliver care. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. What we offer The clinical autonomy of a senior role in an organisation small enough that your work changes how things are done. A nurse-led leadership structure clinical judgement sits alongside operational management here, not underneath it.
Funded CPD, revalidation support and clinical supervision. [Pension / annual leave / mileage / additional benefits insert] We particularly welcome applications from nurses who have worked in services where placements were failing, and who know what it takes to turn that around.
To apply , send your CV and a short covering note to [email] . For an informal conversation about the role, contact [name, title, telephone number] . Unicare Complex Care Specialist Ltd is an equal opportunities employer. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references. We are committed to safeguarding adults and children.
