Job Description & How to Apply Below

Are you looking for mental health jobs in Leeds, York or with one of our regional services operating across the country? We have a range of NHS Job opportunities, placements and specialities in our clinical, research, and professional support teams across Leeds and York.

At Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT), we strive to provide high-quality mental health and learning disability services as an employer of choice. We can only achieve this by putting our staff and the people using our services at the centre of everything we do. This starts with the people we employ. We recruit based on values and qualifications (where required) and believe lived experience is an advantage.

We look for potential, not perfection, and this means that together, we are as diverse as the communities we care for.

Simply put, we seek out people who care, act with integrity and have the right skills. We want to add to our incredible colleagues, students and volunteers who share these principles, with people like you, who find empathy comes easily and who treat everyone with respect without thinking. The Acute Inpatient Service specialises in providing assessment and treatment for adults experiencing acute episodes of mental ill health. We support adults who present with a variety of experiences, needs and diagnoses, working dynamically to collaboratively support their holistic wellbeing beyond ‘just’ a diagnosis. The Acute Inpatient Service is a progressive advocate of reducing stigma regarding mental ill health and actively works alongside partner agencies and carers to achieve individualised recovery goals.

The Acute Inpatient Service can be a challenging environment due to the fast pace and variation in the presentations of the individuals whom we support. However, such factors contribute towards the dynamism, enthusiasm and upskilling of highly supportive teams. The Acute Inpatient Service collaboratively and compassionately supports individuals in their experience of crisis. LYPFT are invested in reducing the use of restrictive interventions, especially within inpatient services.

We provide care for individuals who receive treatment under the Mental Health Act and those who are admitted informally. Teams have enthusiastically worked to embed the Safewards model into everyday culture and practice and are actively working on the implementation of further initiatives to improve the experience of services users.

Main duties of the job
