Based within the Leeds General Infirmary, the Leeds Children's Hospital is one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK and treats patients from across Yorkshire and the North of England as a secondary and tertiary referral centre. Leeds is the level 1 surgical centre for the Yorkshire & Humber Congenital Heart Disease Network and a qua ternary paediatric liver unit including liver transplant.

Other specialist services delivered include renal transplant, cancer services and trauma.

The paediatric pharmacy team is a highly skilled and dedicated group of professionals committed to delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to paediatric patients with acute and chronic conditions. What

you will bring to the role
  • GPhC registration and a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy, or equivalent experience or qualification.
  • Substantial post-registration experience as a practising clinical pharmacist.
  • Advanced clinical pharmacy knowledge and the ability to apply this to complex patient care.
  • Experience of managing complex clinical situations, analysing information from a range of sources and making appropriate clinical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families and a wide range of healthcare professionals.
  • Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills and the confidence to contribute effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to support, supervise and develop other members of the pharmacy team.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing clinical demands.
  • A collaborative, motivated and patient-centred approach, with a commitment to improving the quality and safety of medicines use.
  • Ideally, experience of paediatric and/or critical care practice, and qualification as an independent prescriber.
