We are delighted to advertise a full time, static Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to work as part of the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team at the Freeman Hospital. The Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team provide specialist and dedicated physiotherapy input to patients requiring thoracic and cardiac surgery, solid organ transplantation and patients requiring cardiothoracic intensive care, including advanced mechanical circulatory support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and service, support with physiotherapy pathway development and integrate into cardiothoracic multi-professional teams. The successful candidate will be supported by Advanced Physiotherapists in Critical Care, VAD and Transplant and the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist for Cardiothoracic. We welcome applications from enthusiastic, committed physiotherapists with experience of working within acute surgical and critical care environments.

Existing cardiothoracic physiotherapy experience is desirable.

• To provide a high standard of physiotherapy care (assessment, treatment and advice) to a complex patient group in specialty
• If applicable to role, participate in the Senior Physiotherapy general rotational scheme, which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings, some of which are regional specialities

• Advanced knowledge of a range of medical conditions and their impact on patient's functional abilities
• Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process
• Knowledge of undertaking research and audit projects
• Knowledge of current NHS issues e.g. NSF's Improving Working Lives

• Organisation and time management skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Commitment to personal and service development
• Ability to present information, written and orally in a clear and logical manner
• IT Skills
• Presentation Skills
• Specialist treatment skills e.g. manual therapy

• NHS experience in a rotational post providing a broad range of experience across the core areas of physiotherapy
• Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Previous experience in a senior post
• Experience of working with patients with physical health problems

• Degree or equivalent Diploma in Physiotherapy
• State Registered with Health & Care Professions Council
• Member of Chartered Society Of Physiotherapists
• Involvement in relevant CSP Clinical Special Interest groups
