Job OverviewAre you an experienced Occupational Therapist with a passion for wheelchair services, postural management, and complex equipment assessment?
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Senior II Occupational Therapist (UK Band 6 equivalent) to join our Community Occupational Therapy Service on a fixed-term contract for one year. This role combines practice in wheelchair and postural management with a general community occupational therapy caseload, supporting adults with frailty, disability and complex physical needs.
Reporting to the Wheelchairs and Postural Management Specialist, you will support the assessment, prescription, provision and review of wheelchairs, seating systems and postural support equipment for individuals with complex needs. Alongside this, you will manage a community caseload, delivering occupational therapy interventions that promote independence, safety and participation in daily life.
Working closely with clients, families, carers and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide person‑centred care and contribute to the delivery of a high‑quality Community Occupational Therapy Service.
Job PurposeProvide a professional Occupational Therapy service to assist clients to achieve maximum potential through helping them to optimise their best level of independence or quality of life. Post holders are required to work with clients and their families with a range of physical health conditions and devise specialist care packages and treatment programmes to clients within our specialist area of knowledge.
Working as an autonomous practitioner implementing specialised assessment, evaluation, treatment and management of clients with complex needs. Manage a clinical caseload of complex clients, developing a client caseload plan to ensure that cases are effectively managed within time and manpower constraints. Contribute to the provision of a specialist professional resource for other disciplines and external agencies, so that the contribution of Occupational Therapy can be integrated within the total service provision.
Statutory ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will have to comply with all relevant States Laws, such as the Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989 and any other associated legislation, Standing Orders, Financial Directions, and other relevant Codes of Practice, in respect of managing the key project deliverables of programmes and costs through the active management of procurement, approval, financial and administrative procedures.y
