HR & QHSE Director
- Leeds- 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH.

We’re partnering with a growing logistics organisation to appoint a strategic, forward‑thinking HR Director who will lead the people agenda and shape the company’s long‑term direction. We are looking for a senior leader who has excellent leadership skills. You will sit on the senior leadership team and report directly to the MD. Your role will drive the evolution of the HR function, strengthen organisational capability, and ensure culture, talent, and people processes fully support ambitious growth plans.

HR Director – Role Profile Overview

The HR Director plays a pivotal role in shaping organisational success by strategically managing people, culture, and compliance. This position provides leadership across HR and QHSE ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering a high‑performance, safe, and engaged workforce.

Specific Responsibilities HR
  • Lead HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Develop HR strategies covering talent acquisition, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, succession planning, and retention.
  • Provide strategic HR advice and guidance to senior management.
  • Develop HR financial strategies including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
QHSE
  • Support senior leadership with HSE policy, guidelines, and role definition.
  • Ensure implementation, review, and auditing of QHSE systems in line with corporate standards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety and environmental procedures, updating them as legislation or company directives evolve.
  • Lead or support high‑level accident/incident investigations and trend analysis.
  • Provide safety guidance for contract mobilisation, tender documentation, and training for new starters and subcontractors.
Fleet Management
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and compliance of company vehicles and fleet systems.
  • Ensure timely reporting and resolution of vehicle damage.
  • Maintain accurate cost analysis, operational records, and reporting for fleet activities.
IT & Security
  • Ensure adherence to IT security standards and legal compliance across relevant systems and processes.
General
  • Prepare operational reports across HR and QHSE.
  • Undertake special projects or additional duties aligned with skills and organisational needs.
Compliance Responsibilities
  • Act as a compliance risk reporter.
  • Ensure adherence to laws, regulations, internal codes of conduct, and anti‑bribery standards.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Follow all health and safety policies, processes, and training.
