Head of Recruitment & Onboarding

Diamond Search Recruitment are proud to be representing our client in the search for an experienced and strategic Head of Recruitment & Onboarding to join their People leadership team.

This is a pivotal role responsible for leading and delivering a high-volume recruitment strategy across frontline care, education, and support services. The successful candidate will ensure the organisation attracts, recruits, and onboards the right talent at pace to meet ambitious growth and revenue targets.

The Role

As Head of Recruitment & Onboarding, you will lead a dedicated team of recruiters and onboarding specialists, creating a seamless, efficient, and candidate-focused journey from application through to start date.

You will be accountable for:

  • Developing and delivering a high-volume recruitment strategy aligned to operational and commercial objectives
  • Leading, coaching, and developing the recruitment and onboarding team
  • Reducing time-to-hire and improving overall recruitment performance
  • Optimising workforce utilisation to meet service demand
  • Driving continuous improvement across recruitment systems, processes, and reporting
  • Ensuring a positive, engaging, and compliant onboarding experience
  • Aligning recruitment delivery with workforce planning and growth targets

This role is critical in enabling sustainable organisational growth and ensuring continued delivery of outstanding support to children and young people.

About You

We are seeking a strategic and operational recruitment leader with:

  • Proven experience leading high-volume recruitment functions, ideally within care, education, healthcare, or similar frontline sectors
  • Strong experience managing and developing recruitment teams
  • A track record of improving recruitment KPIs including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, and retention
  • Experience implementing recruitment systems, reporting frameworks, and process improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner senior leaders
  • A data-driven and commercially focused mindset
