People Change Consultant (known internally as Organisation Effectiveness Partner Implementation of structural changes)

About the role

We're looking for an Employee Relations & Organisational Change Specialist with deep expertise in organisational change, workforce restructuring and Suitable Alternative Employment (SAE) assessments. You'll play a pivotal role in helping leaders navigate complex people change, ensuring colleague treatment decisions are fair, evidence-based and aligned to employment legislation and Society policy.

Implementation & colleague experience
  • Lead the implementation of organisational design changes, restructures and operating model transformations.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on employee relations aspects of organisational change, advising leaders on the most appropriate colleague treatment approach.
  • Assess proposed and existing roles to determine whether they constitute Suitable Alternative Employment (SAE), alternative employment, selection situations or informal change, ensuring robust and evidence-based decision making.
  • Provide expert advice on redundancy, redeployment, consultation and selection processes, balancing organisational objectives with fair and consistent colleague outcomes.
  • Partner with business leaders to plan and deliver trade union engagement, colleague communications and end-to-end change implementation plans.
  • Coach and support senior leaders through complex ER challenges arising from organisational change, ensuring legal compliance, consistency and positive colleague experience.
About you
  • Significant experience leading complex organisational change, restructures and workforce transformation programmes.
  • Deep technical expertise in employee relations and organisational change, including redundancy, collective and individual consultation, selection processes, redeployment and Suitable Alternative Employment (SAE) assessments.
  • Proven ability to assess and compare roles, using sound judgement to determine colleague treatment and redeployment outcomes in complex change situations.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and experience applying it pragmatically within large-scale organisational change.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-informed approach, strong judgement and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
