We are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Dev Ops Engineer
with extensive experience in
Duck Creek technologies
, strong infrastructure knowledge, and advanced networking capabilities. This role involves close collaboration with the Dev Ops Lead and an onsite Dev Ops Engineer to design, implement, automate, and support complex development, test, pre-production, and production environments. Regular onsite presence in Leeds (preferably 2–3 days per week) is required to support environment builds and ensure effective teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, build, configuration, and support of Duck Creek AVS development and test environments, including correct setup of IIS and Windows Server 2022.
• Configure and manage on-premises Duck Creek Pre-Production and Production environments running on x86 infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain required networking, firewall, and load-balancing configurations, including F5 appliances.
• Configure, administer, and optimize SQL Server instances supporting Duck Creek applications.
• Develop robust automation and orchestration frameworks using Power Shell for environment provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
• Deliver automation initiatives end-to-end, working with Dev Ops engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to standardize practices and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot environment issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive long-term stability and repeatability improvements.
• Produce comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, runbooks, automation scripts, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with the Dev Ops Lead on planning, prioritizing, and coordinating environment-related activities and deployment work streams.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience with Duck Creek applications/platforms across development, test, and production environments.
• Strong technical background in:
• Windows Server 2022 and IIS configuration
• Networking principles, firewall configuration, and troubleshooting
• F5 load balancer configuration and support
• SQL Server configuration, administration, and performance tuning
• Advanced Power Shell scripting skills for automation and provisioning frameworks.
• Experience with on-premise x86 infrastructure builds and Azure VMware Solution (AVS) configurations.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within Dev Ops teams and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering technical solutions to completion.
• Experience with in insurance or financial services technical environments.
• Familiarity with automation/orchestration tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with enterprise-level monitoring, backup, and security configuration practices.
