Senior Technical Architect

Our client is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to work closely with engineering and digital delivery teams, supporting the technical design and architecture of products, platforms, or programme work streams.

The role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong architectural leadership. You will bring broad technical knowledge across multiple domains, with depth in at least one specialism, and will contribute to the growth of the technical architecture community while ensuring high-quality, value-for-money digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and support the technical design of products or shared platforms to meet user needs and business objectives

* Ensure high-quality technical designs aligned to enterprise architecture principles and roadmaps

* Build strong collaborative relationships with agile delivery teams to deliver effective and scalable solutions

* Share best practice and contribute to the development of reference architectures and architecture standards

* Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Domain Architects, Solution Architects, and engineering teams to ensure delivery aligns with approved designs

* Be accountable for product architecture, working in alignment with engineering teams

* Identify, capture, and iterate architecture patterns to ensure consistency and coherence across systems

* Create solution options and recommendations during discovery and inception phases

* Make informed technology choices aligned to enterprise architecture blueprints and contribute to technology policy updates

* Support the development of an inclusive and collaborative digital culture

* Strong understanding of technical concepts and their place within wider system landscapes

* Experience designing systems with medium levels of risk, impact, and complexity

* Skilled in selecting and applying appropriate design standards, methods, and tools

* Experience reviewing the designs of others to ensure effective integration and efficient use of resources

* Comfortable working with and constructively challenging senior stakeholders

* Proven ability to design solutions across multiple business areas or complex services

* Strong approach to prototyping, including establishing and iterating design patterns
