SAP Functional Consultant

Base pay range:

SAP FI/CO Functional Consultant - £60 - £65K + Benefits. 18 month Fixed term Contract

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced SAP Functional Consultant to play a pivotal role in delivering technology-enabled business improvements within the broader finance team. This role focuses on optimising SAP FI/CO processes to ensure efficiency, integrity, and alignment with organisational objectives. The position requires a balance of independent working and teamwork to provide solutions that simplify and standardise operations, while meeting business needs effectively.

In this role, you will lead the design, development, and testing of SAP FI/CO solutions, supporting both new implementations and enhancements to existing systems. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, offering expert advice on aligning SAP capabilities with business requirements and supporting key activities such as incident resolution and change management.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver technology-driven enhancements with a focus on SAP FI/CO processes.
• Analyse business needs to design, build, and implement SAP solutions that provide measurable value.
• Provide expert guidance on SAP capabilities and develop tailored solutions to achieve organisational goals.
• Lead and support initiatives including incident resolution, service requests, and change requests.
• Ensure effective collaboration between IT teams and business stakeholders.
• Focus on system simplification and process standardisation across the SAP environment.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in SAP FI/CO and CO-PA, including involvement in at least three full lifecycle implementations.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Finance and Controlling modules and their integration points.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and analyse business requirements, delivering practical solutions.
• Expertise in system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting to address business challenges.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Proficiency in documenting current (as-is) and future (to-be) processes to support business transformation.
• A positive, trustworthy, and diligent professional with a high standard of integrity.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
