Senior Power BI Developer & Data Engineer
12-month Fixed Term Contract
Ampa’s Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Power BI Developer & Data Engineer to deliver enterprise-grade analytics and data solutions across debt finance (Debt Trak/Aderant) and Peppermint CMS reporting.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the design, build, and optimise Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for finance, debt, and operation teams
- Engineer data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines) and Azure integration
- Model data from Debt Trak, Aderant, and Dynamics-based CMS into governed, blended and scalable datasets
- Implement incremental refresh, composite models, calculation groups, and performance tuning
- Configure and manage Power BI work spaces, deployment pipelines, and access controls
- Automate reporting workflows and enable self-service analytics for business users
- Deliver validated financial models and role-based reports for debt, finance and legal services
- Integrate and reconcile data across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and auditability
- Lead the transition from legacy reporting (SSRS) to Power BI, embedding best practices
- Champion the co-development of Fabric utilities, templates, and standards with the Fabric Administrator
- Drive adoption of data product conventions, Git integration, and monitoring/logging for scale
- Partner with Data Engineering, Finance, Legal Operations, and business stakeholders to mature the platform
- Document solutions, create user guides, and contribute to a knowledge base for repeatability
Governance & Compliance
- Embed GDPR, data protection, and least privilege access in solutions
- Certify datasets, apply sensitivity labels, and maintain audit-ready documentation
- Implement data quality checks, maintain data lineage documentation, and support audit readiness
- Ensure robust security and compliance across all reporting assets
What you will need:
Skills and experience Must have:
- Proven delivery of enterprise Power BI solutions (DAX, Power Query M, SQL)
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Pipelines)
- Azure fundamentals (ADLS, managed identities, Dev Ops/Git)
- Dimensional modelling, data product thinking, performance optimisation
- Experience building financial/debt-related models and reports
Nice to have:
- Domain experience with Aderant and Dynamics/Peppermint
- Legal services data and finance process knowledge
- Automation of testing and documentation
- Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst or Fabric Analytics Engineer
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with stakeholders across business and technical teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach
- Ability to drive process improvements proactively
- Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving technological environment
