Software Engineer – Digital Consulting Platform

Salary: £55,000 per annum

Hours:

37.5 hours per week (Full-time, Permanent)

The software engineer will support Catalyst Nex’s consulting engagements by developing internal digital tools, workflow automation components, data processing dashboards, and reporting modules to enhance delivery efficiency for engineering, strategy, and operational consulting projects.

• Design and develop secure web-based software systems to support consulting service delivery.
• Build backend architecture and API integration to enable secure workflow automation.
• Develop data processing logic for consulting analytics modules (pricing, operations, engineering workflows).
• Collaborate closely with the Product Consultant to translate consulting deliverables into scalable digital features.
• Implement quality assurance through code reviews, testing frameworks, and continuous improvement practices.
• Develop database structures, data relationships, and reporting layers aligned with consulting KPIs.
• Ensure platform compliance with UK data protection, cybersecurity, and GDPR standards.
• Support internal testing, user feedback, and iterative product release cycles.
• Maintain technical documentation and version control for all internal product assets.

• Minimum 5 years experience developing full-stack applications using modern frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, .NET, React).
• Understanding of B2B enterprise platforms or workflow automation tools.
• Ability to transform business consulting logic into software functionality.
• Experience integrating data analytics or engineering process logic into digital tools is highly desirable.
• Strong experience with API development, backend logic structuring, and product deployment.
• Exposure to consulting, engineering workflow systems, or SaaS platform development preferred.
