£39,000-£42,000 pa
LocationAny GBS UK campus (excluding Leeds)
Role PurposeThe Event
MAP System Administrator will manage, configure, and maintain our Event
MAP platform (Timetabler and Booker apps primarily). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in system administration, with a focus on managing Event
MAP. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the Event
MAP system, supporting users, and optimising system configurations to meet organisational needs.
- Administer and maintain the Event
MAP system, ensuring its optimal performance and availability. - Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades as required, ensuring minimal downtime via the Change Advisory Board.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues promptly to ensure a smooth user experience.
- Provide support for Event
MAP users, resolving issues related to system access, functionality, and configuration. - Conduct user training sessions to improve user understanding and effective use of the system.
- Develop and maintain documentation for system use, best practices, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and customize the Event
MAP system to align with the organization's scheduling and attendance management requirements. - To have a comprehensive understanding of existing business processes related to Timetabling; work with stakeholders to understand business needs and implement solutions within the system to support those needs.
- Create and manage user roles, permissions, and workflows to optimise system use and security.
- Ensure accurate data entry and integrity within the Event
MAP system. - Generate and analyse reports related to event scheduling, resource utilisation, and other metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making.
- Integrate Event
MAP with other systems and platforms via bespoke API or native integration functionality. - Implement automation for recurring tasks and processes to enhance system efficiency.
- Working closely with the Head of Timetabling and Academic Service teams as well as collaborating with wider IT Systems department.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience as a System Administrator, with specific experience in event management or scheduling systems like Event
MAP. - Strong higher education domain knowledge, technical knowledge of system administration, including experience with system updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with SQL and data management principles.
- Experience in user support and training, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Experience with Event
MAP or similar event management platforms. - Knowledge of system integration and API management.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Understanding of data security best practices.
