Field Service Technician​/Engineer

Job Overview

We have a great job opportunity available at nGeneration for a Field Service Engineer. This role requires the ability to identify and fix hardware, configuration issues, as well as repair hardware devices. Excellent client interaction skills are essential.

Home location required:
Leeds & surrounding area.

• Conduct daily visits to client locations for break‑fix install, refurbish and maintain EPoS equipment, chip‑and‑pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi‑Fi and other IT equipment.
• Provide on‑site equipment swap‑out services, minimising downtime for the client during the replacement process.
• Set up Wi‑Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables on‑site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware or software issues during site visits, promptly escalating to the appropriate team when necessary.
• Document troubleshooting steps and actions, and secure client sign‑off before completing the task.
• Travel nationwide; up to UK‑wide travel and overnight stays may be required.

• Salary: £28,678 per annum (including on‑call supplement).

• Working hours:
  
  13‑hour shifts, 3 days on, 3 days off rota (includes weekends and bank holidays).
• Full UK Manual Driver’s Licence is required.
• Pre‑existing van not required – successful candidates will be provided with a new company van equipped with air‑conditioning, car‑play, reversing camera and sensors, satellite navigation, DAB radio and custom rear racking.

• 1 year of IT support experience (preferred).
• 1 year of EPOS experience (preferred).
• Willingness to travel 100% of the time (preferred).
• UK Manual Driving Licence (required – international licences are not accepted).
• Technical mindset with a logical, methodical approach to troubleshooting and a good understanding of data‑network cable faults.
• Experience as an IT Network Engineer or Telecoms/Broadband Engineer, especially in retail or hospitality, is highly desirable.
