The Role

As a Cyber Security Advisory Consultant, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of cyber security and risk advisory engagements for complex client environments. We are looking for a senior security professional who can work directly with client stakeholders to address practical cyber security challenges, design effective governance and controls, and support compliance with regulatory and assurance requirements. You will be expected to clearly articulate technical security risks and their business impact to senior leadership, contribute to pragmatic cyber improvement roadmaps, and support the secure adoption of cloud and digital technologies across large and complex organisations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including C‑level executives.
  • Lead and deliver cyber security advisory engagements within large and complex client environments.
  • Support the development and execution of cyber security strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Advise organisations on governance, risk management, and security control design.
  • Provide thought leadership and represent the Cyber Advisory function at board‑level forums, both internally and externally.
  • Guide and support large cyber security teams through improvement initiatives and transformation programmes.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within the cyber security domain and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Support pre‑sales activities, including RFP responses, where required and aligned to workload.
Essential skills/knowledge/experience
  • Strong experience in technical scoping, security architecture design, and integration of security tools and processes.
  • Good working knowledge of security controls, identity and access management, data security, security governance, and secure development practices.
  • Experience defining and advising on cyber security strategies and architectures across cloud and on‑premises environments, with a focus on automation.
  • Proven experience across multiple cyber security disciplines, such as cyber engineering, security operations, Dev Sec Ops , cryptography, identity governance, and GRC.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles and compliance frameworks, including ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and ISA/IEC 62443.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, user‑centric cyber security solutions.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder‑management skills, with a strong focus on thought leadership and solution development.
  • A growth mindset and commitment to continuous improvement for yourself, your team, and your clients.
  • Professional cyber security certifications such as CISSP or CISM, demonstrating broad and deep security knowledge.
  • Experience acting as a Lead Auditor or equivalent against standards such as ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Cloud security knowledge supported by certifications such as CCSK, AZ‑500, or SC‑100.
  • Practical experience applying security principles within cloud‑native and hybrid environments.
  • Exposure to security architecture, governance, and assurance activities within large‑scale or regulated organisations.
