CTU XT1147 Temporary CTP NE IT Technical Officer External

The following vacancy has been advertised externally. CTP NE IT Technical Officer is required for the Counter Terrorism Policing – North East (CTP NE) team in Leeds. The position is a fixed‑term, 12‑month contract with the possibility of extension, and is full‑time (37 hours per week).

• Provide IT support across all departments within CTP North East.
• Develop, install and maintain a variety of systems, including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, servers and printers, with a strong focus on security.
• Deliver support in line with the ITIL framework to all regional units within the North East.
• Implement and maintain IT security standards in accordance with legislation, national guidelines, and local and regional policy.

• Experience supporting, maintaining and administering Windows 11, Microsoft Server 2016 or higher, Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange Server.
• Qualification (degree, HNC, HND) in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in an IT environment.
• Ability to manage IT services for customers and assist them in carrying out their roles.
• Experience planning, designing, building and delivering core infrastructure solutions and a solid understanding of ICT impact on the organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to build, support, maintain and manage a secure computer infrastructure, adhering to established security protocols.

• Willingness and ability to travel for business purposes.
• Holder of a full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to meet CTP requirements and participate in a call‑out rota.

• Successful candidates will be subject to Enhanced and Developed level personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
• You must be a British citizen and eligible to hold a British passport to work with CTP NE.
• Applicants who have not been resident in the UK for the last ten years may be refused if suitable vetting cannot be conducted.
