SC Platform Engineer

Salary: £75,000 - 85,000 per year

• Active Security Clearance (SC) is mandatory.
• We require 10+ years of relevant experience.
• We need experience with Kong Konnect API management systems or a similar platform.
• We need experience as a Senior Platform Engineer with a solid understanding of software engineering principles and their application.
• We require experience with scripting and pipeline automation such as Jenkins and Git Hub Actions.
• We need strong understanding of cloud services, especially AWS, and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• We require proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Cloud Formation or Terraform.
• We need an understanding of internet networking fundamentals and traffic flow, including DNS, TLS, routing, VPNs, and edge platforms such as Cloudflare.
• We require a strong understanding of the Kong Konnect API platform.
• We need experience working closely with development and infrastructure teams to quickly understand requirements and implement solutions.
• We require the ability to leverage automation to improve development processes and optimise software delivery.
• We need the ability to cooperate closely with engineers and product teams, including designers, product managers, and analysts.
• We require hands-on Cloud Formation scripting, troubleshooting, and debugging experience.
• We need working knowledge of Chef, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• We require experience with Python scripting and troubleshooting.
• We need experience with Jenkins pipelines, including multibranch pipelines, deployments, and Groovy scripting.
• We require experience with Linux commands and troubleshooting web services.
• We need experience with AWS services such as EC2, NLB, API Gateway, and ASG.

• We design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable platform solutions.
• We monitor, manage, and optimise cloud-based AWS resources.
• We feed engineering insight and experience into our wider Strategy and Architecture team to identify opportunities to improve engineering across the organisation.
• We document procedures and policies for maintaining and improving system infrastructure.
• We implement automation tools and frameworks, including CI/CD pipelines, for efficient and secure deployment and operations.
• We work with development teams to facilitate the deployment and operation of systems.
