Senior Category Manager – Technology
Location:
Leeds / London / Dublin (Hybrid – 2 days per week in Dublin only). Permanent position.
The Procurement function in Flutter governs external third‑party spend of over £6bn per annum across various business units. As part of the Group Category Management team led by the Director – Global Supplier Partnerships and Category Management, the Senior Category Manager in Technology is a strategic role responsible for procurement, category planning, strategy, and Supplier Risk and Performance Management (SRPM). You will partner with divisional procurement teams and stakeholders to optimise spend and delivery across all Group brands.
Responsibilities- Establish positive relationships with senior internal Technology stakeholders to understand strategic direction and translate it to supplier partners.
- Develop global category sourcing strategies and spend‑management plans to achieve business objectives.
- Lead Flutter’s SRPM Minimum Standards programme across the global Technology supplier base.
- Drive value and synergy savings through global negotiations and continual performance improvements.
- Conduct business reviews with premier global IT suppliers, reviewing performance, risk, and future opportunities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Senior Flutter IT leaders on supplier performance and spend management.
- Evaluate supplier core proficiencies, benchmark against industry models, and provide category insights and trends.
- Identify sourcing opportunities by consolidating requirements through spend analysis.
- Lead global sourcing and supplier engagement activities, including RFx, analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and consolidation.
- Guide internal stakeholders on procurement strategies and maintain procurement ethics and governance.
- Extensive experience in Technology procurement within a global sourcing role in a multinational corporation.
- Proven ability to lead across all organisational levels on strategic and operational basis.
- Deep knowledge of category‑management best practices including benchmarking, RFX, contract management, and end‑to‑end processes.
- Strong negotiation skills with validated experience setting strategies and conducting negotiations.
- Experience assessing risk and communicating complex issues to business owners.
- Customer‑focused mindset with the ability to understand business needs.
- Analytical skills to rapidly analyse, distil, and draw conclusions from large data sets.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work independently with high integrity and ethics.
