We're looking for a passionate and technically strong Cloud Engineer to join our Group Cloud Platform Engineering Team
, helping drive enterprise-wide cloud transformation across multiple international markets.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in modernising technology platforms, enabling innovation, and establishing cloud best practices across the organisation.
You'll work closely with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Dev Ops teams to design, build, optimise, and support a cloud-first ecosystem that is secure, resilient, and future-ready.
What You'll Be DoingAs a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, optimisation, and operational management of our cloud platforms, ensuring they remain secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage enterprise cloud platforms, ensuring maximum availability, stability, and performance.
- Design, build, and support scalable AWS cloud environments aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Architecture, and Delivery teams to deliver production-ready cloud services.
- Lead cloud transformation initiatives, supporting the migration of legacy platforms to modern cloud-native architectures.
- Develop and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and automation tooling.
- Implement secure-by-design principles across all cloud services and deployments.
- Ensure cloud environments are compliant with internal governance standards and industry frameworks including ISO and NIST.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, platform, and cloud service issues.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, operational excellence, and platform standardisation.
- Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimisation and resource efficiency.
- Act as a cloud champion, promoting best practices and mentoring teams across the wider technology function.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale cloud transformation and migration programmes
- Strong hands‑on experience building and operating AWS‑based solutions
- Experience modernising legacy platforms through cloud‑native technologies
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation
- Experience working within Agile and Dev Sec Ops environments
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, resilience, and identity management
- Experience operating within regulated environments, ideally Financial Services

- Extensive hands‑on experience designing, deploying, and operating AWS solutions.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, compliance, governance, and operational best practices.
- Proven experience transforming legacy technology estates into cloud‑native environments.
- Ability to influence technical strategy and drive cloud adoption across large organisations.
- Be part of a major cloud transformation journey.
- Work with modern AWS technologies and cloud‑native architectures.
- Influence strategic platform engineering decisions.
- Collaborate with highly skilled Cloud, Dev Ops, Security, and Architecture teams.
