Technical Delivery Manager - Pension Platform

Location: Leeds (hybrid)
Salary: £55,000 base
Permanent, full time

About the role

A well-established UK pensions organisation is looking for a Technical Delivery Manager to lead technology change on its platform. You'll run platform upgrades, integrations and supplier releases from start to finish, from early design through build and testing to go-live and early life support.

This is a hands-on role. You'll be the main person responsible for change on the pension platform, working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers and third-party software suppliers. It suits someone who enjoys leading delivery and is confident discussing the technical detail.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading the delivery of platform upgrades, integrations and strategic technology projects.
  • Turning business requirements into practical delivery plans and solutions that can be supported long term.
  • Coordinating internal teams and third-party suppliers so work lands on time.
  • Assessing supplier releases and platform changes for their impact, making sure the business is ready before they go live.
  • Managing risks, dependencies and issues, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout.
  • Checking technical designs, configurations and interfaces before they move forward.
  • Improving delivery processes, standards and governance, and finding ways to reduce technical debt.
What we’re looking for
  • Experience as a Technical Project Manager, Delivery Manager or Technical Lead in a complex technology environment.
  • A track record of delivering change across the full lifecycle: analysis, design, build, testing, deployment and early life support.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and software vendors.
  • A good understanding of systems integration, APIs, environments and release management.
  • Comfortable working in Agile and with formal change governance.
  • A structured approach to planning, dependency management and risk.
  • A degree in Computer Science, IT or a related subject, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
  • Experience in pensions or another regulated financial services setting.
  • Experience upgrading or modernising legacy platforms.
  • PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, SAFe, Scrum or ITIL Foundation.
