Working with the Schemes team – responsible for profitability, income and regulatory compliance – you’ll gain insight into this specialist segment and how it fits within the broader AXA business.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance home and office time. You’ll be on site at least two days a week (40%) and eventually move to three days a week (60%). Offsite means visiting clients, attending industry events or working from a designated office. We’re also happy to consider flexible arrangements – discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Be accountable for protecting profitability and achieving our top‑line plans through portfolio management.
  • Deliver financial results by regularly utilising data to understand scheme performance, mix and exposures, and identify growth opportunities.
  • Obtain a solid understanding of our conduct framework and underwriting controls.
  • Build excellent relationships and provide outstanding service to our DA partners, including support on referred cases.
  • Attend regular underwriting and quarterly meetings to discuss scheme performance.
  • Build your internal underwriting network.
  • Support growth, profitability and conduct compliance for your DA’s.
  • Own your personal development and collaborate with senior underwriters to increase empowerment, identify improvement areas and drive change to resolution.
What you’ll bring:
  • Sound understanding of the commercial insurance market and processes, including legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of P&C commercial lines products and underwriting.
  • Exposure and experience delivering a great customer experience.
  • Strong trading capability, negotiation skills and ability to build effective partnering relationships.
  • Pragmatic and confident decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical and numerical reasoning skills with ability to manipulate and interpret data.
  • Cert CII is desirable, along with a commitment to obtain Dip CII.
  • As a precondition of employment you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position is defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role. Beyond pre‑employment screening, you’ll undergo background checks every four years with an annual declaration in interim years.

What we offer:
  • Competitive annual salary
  • Annual company & performance‑based bonus
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contributions)
